Information we hold and use

We may collect and process the following information about you:

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

Information we receive from other sources. We may receive information about you if you use any of the other websites we operate or the other services we provide. Security and Storage of your information

The data that we collect from you may stored at or accessed from a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by group companies located outside of the EEA and/or staff operating outside the EEA who work for us. Such companies and staff maybe engaged in, among other things, the provision of support services. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy. We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your information from being accidentally lost, used, disclosed or accessed in an unauthorised way. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any third parties hosting our site and our systems have adequate security measures in place to protect your information.  You should be aware however, that the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. How long do we hold your information?

We will hold onto your information only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was provided to us or collected eg. for as long as is necessary to provide any services requested by you or to respond to your queries. Where processing is based on your consent, we shall only process it until such time as you withdraw your consent.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your rights

You have a number of rights in relation to your information as follows:

  • Right to withdraw consent – where we have asked for your consent for processing, you have the right to withdraw consent. This will not affect the processing already carried out with your consent.

Automated decision making and profiling

Automated decision making takes place when an electronic system using personal information to make a decision without human intervention. Whilst we use some automated decision-making including profiling of visitors to our site for marketing and business development purposes, you will not be subject to decisions that will have a significant impact on you based solely on automated decision-making, unless we have a lawful basis for doing so and we have notified you.
